SeaWorld’s Turtle Trek
Orlando, FL
SeaWorld Orlando’s Turtle Trek is an emotional and uplifting attraction experience created through a spectacular blend of animal habitats and the world’s first cutting edge 3D 360° media dome. PGAV designed a guest experience to showcase the vulnerable sea turtle and ask everyday heroes across the globe to help make a difference in saving animals in the wild.
Turtle Trek is the repurposing of a 20-year-old space; and as guest flow was being reversed in the new installation, intentional signage and wayfinding was essential. A cohesive brand and theme is found throughout the entire exhibit, centering on icons including “Everyday Heroes,” conservation tips, wave/water formations, sea grass, blue and green for habitat reference, orange as the iconic color of “heroes” from the associated film, and glowing/translucent two-panel signage.
Interpretive signage not only incorporates the threaded themes as well as classic art, but is also intentionally positioned along exhibit railings so that guests draw a straight point of view from the interpretives to the live animals. Also intentionally positioned is educational conservation signage near recycling receptacles.
Signage throughout the retail experience reinforces conservation tips, SeaWorld’s conservation efforts, and more sea turtle and manatee biology. Upon exiting the exhibit, visitors look skyward to signage that re-introduces the film’s conservation heroes and reminders on conservation tips.
